Netflix Scores in Women's Soccer

Netflix has obtained exclusive US rights to the next two FIFA Women’s World Cups. In 2027 and 2031the tournament will appear for the first time on a streaming service. The 2027 tourney, which runs from June 24 to July 25, featuring 32 teams from across the globe, will compete in 12 cities throughout Brazil.

In addition to the matches, coverage will be supplemented with commentary and entertainment, including lead-ins spotlighting top players, how they got where they are, and information about the sport in general.

It is fabulous to see more interest from the media in women's sports. Nice they are catching up with what many of us for decades have known to be very exciting to watch.

No Surprise Who Leads in Top Countries For Women's Rights and Gender Equality

Iceland tops the list of countries where women have the right to flourish and men and women live in the most equitable environment.

Next comes Denmark, then Norway, followed by Finland and Sweden.

Scandinavia is looking pretty good.

The United States did not fare too well. Might be interesting to see where it ranks after Trump and his minions have four years of putting in tremendous efforts into building the country's hierarchies back to where they have been years ago.

There Should Be No Ranking Among Hierarchies

Justice Mordy Bromberg, the President of the Australian Law Reform Commission, delivered the 2024 Higinbotham Lecture.

Bromberg emphasized the enduring equality of human rights, despite what sometimes seems to be a conflict between different human rights.

“All human rights are equal,” he said. “There is no hierarchy. There is no ranking.”

“One human right does not overrule another when they seemingly intersect. That is because all human rights are universal, indivisible, interdependent and interrelated.”

In other words, a hierarchy of hierarchy should be abolished, and particularly on an individual basis, no one hierarchy corners the market on how hierarchies can negatively affect people.

Taliban Bans Medical Education for Women

The Taliban in Afghanistan closed one of the last remaining loopholes in their ban on education for older girls and women by forbidding them from attending institutions offering medical education.

The Taliban have also banned women in some provinces from being treated by male medical professionals,  which means that this new decree, halting the training of new female healthcare workers, will result in unnecessary pain, misery, sickness, and death for the women forced to go without health care, as there won’t be female healthcare workers to treat them.

Men are really going nuts when they have total control over women who have no say in their lives. Should we suppose there are many men in the United States who feel the same way, and with Trump again in power, will feel empowered to exert their strength? Hierarchy gone wild.
