Judge Aaron Persky – who gave Stanford swimmer Brock Turner an extremely lenient sentence after he was convicted of assault with intent to commit rape of an
intoxicated/unconscious person, penetration of an intoxicated person and
penetration of an unconscious person – yesterday became the first California jurist recalled from the bench in 86 years.
Persky was concerned that prison time could have a "severe" impact on Turner's life as the reasoning behind the lenient six-month sentence. Turner ended up only serving three months due to good behavior.
