Men Approve of Trump Much More Than Women

With a huge gender gap in the approval of Trump, men definitely are clueless at the top.

In a new article by Caitlin Cruz entitled "Trump's Approval Rating with Women vs. Men Lays Bare a Huge Gender Gap, A New Poll Shows," from Bustle, the gender gap is 22 points: Only 27 percent of women approve of Trump's job performance, compared to 49 percent of men.

"The numbers are similar when asked about their confidence in Trump's ability to make "the right decisions for the country's future": Forty-three percent of men have confidence in Trump's decision-making, compared to only 28 percent of women. Furthermore, 48 percent rated Trump as a "good political dealmaker" compared to 25 percent of women who think the same."

Even If Trump is the "Lowest White Man," That's Fine According to Supporters

Charles Blow, in his opinion piece about Donald Trump, states that Trumpism is a religion founded on patriarchy and white supremacy.

"It is the belief that even the least qualified man is a better choice than the most qualified woman and a belief that the most vile, anti-intellectual, scandal-plagued simpleton of a white man is sufficient to follow in the presidential footsteps of the best educated, most eloquent, most affable black man."

"Trump’s supporters are saying to us, screaming to us, that although he may be the “lowest white man,” he is still better than Barack Obama, the “best colored man.”

"In a way, Donald Trump represents white people’s right to be wrong and still be right. He is the embodiment of the unassailability of white power and white privilege."

Support of top of the hierarchy in action.

We Have Seen That MAGA Boy's Face Before: Top of Our Hierarchies is Consistent

In her article, "The MAGA Teenager Who Harassed a Native American Veteran Is Still Unnamed, but We've See His Face Before," Ruth Graham states that, "Many observers recognized this face right away...A clutch of white young men crowding around a single black man at a lunch counter sit-in in Virginia in the 1960s...That face is the rows of Wisconsin high school boys flashing Nazi salutes... Brett Kavanaugh holding down Christine Blasey Ford...The face knows that no matter how you react, it wins."

The top of our hierarchies, if nothing else, is consistent.

MAGA Boys in D.C. and Toxic Masculinity

Dozens of white boys from Covington Catholic High School in northern Kentucky attending a "Right to Life" rally in Washington D.C. have been caught on video ridiculing, taunting, and mocking elder Nathan Phillips during an Indigenous Peoples March.

From the Good Men Project, Alex Yarde discusses this harassment, as well as the recent Gillette advertisement about toxic masculinity to discuss how men are in this country are taught to be males, including the role models men are to boys.

"In my opinion, by the time a boy needs a razor, that cake is baked. A melange of parental guidance, social pressures, personal life choices and heroes he admires and emulates, determines the kind of man he will become. Garbage in, garbage out."

Privileges expected from being on top of our nation's hierarchies are becoming more and more obvious as Donald Trump encourages his supporters to insist on those privileges. These boys are no exception.

Gilette and the American Psychological Association Agree

Jared L. Skillings, Ph.D., Chief of Professional Practice for the American Psychological Association said that the timing of their article on the problems with traditional masculinity and the controversial Gillette commercial on toxic male behavior is coincidental. Bus Skillings said, "I am personally very appreciative of the fact that they have joined this important conversation."

Gilette: "Is this the best a man can get?" the narrator asks as the ad cuts to a montage of bullying, violence and sexual harassment, and references the #MeToo Movement and toxic masculinity. "The boys watching today," the narrator continues, "will be the men of tomorrow."

The top-of-the-hierarchy behavior of men and the pass they have received for the effect of that behavior on everyone else is finally being challenged. Though benefits come with being on top, many detriments abound also. Hierarchies need to fall.

Top Always Passes Blame - Even for Fast Food

Sarah Sanders, as the press secretary of the White House, followed in the footsteps of great hierarchy builders before her and blamed someone else for Donald Trump's decision to serve fast food to the Clemson football team.

Even though this article clearly shows Trump claiming responsibility when he thinks it is a good idea, if anyone says the opposite, someone else is blamed. Lower groups are blamed for what is objectionable, while higher groups take credit for what is deemed to be desirable.

Woman Becomes Fastest Human on a Bike

Denise Mueller-Korenek, a former elite junior cyclist and 45-year-old mother of three, last September became the fastest human ever to ride a bike. This feat was accomplished on the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah.

Her pace car driver as also a woman, but a race car driver by profession, Shea Holbrook.

Watch a great video account of the feat featured in the Wall Street Journal.

The gender hierarchy continues to break down, thank goodness!!

Traditional Masculinity - Harmful Says Amercian Psychological Association

The American Psychological Association has published its findings that traditional behaviors by men are harmful.

Learned from roles dictated by being on top of our nation's hierarchies, these include anti-femininity, achievement, eschewal of the appearance of weakness, and adventure risk and violence.

The APA notes a bevy of statistics to emphasize that “traditional masculinity — marked by stoicism, competitiveness, dominance and aggression — is, on the whole, harmful.”

Make Hole in Fence for Dog Friends

It is so nice to the human/animal hierarchy breaking down a little.

Because two neighbor dogs wanted to become friends very badly, they started digging holes under the fence separating their families.

But other family members instead decided to install a door so the dogs could get together whenever they wanted, just like human friends. Best friends are now together.

Trump - Defeats Himself By Not Playing Game of Passing Blame Down His Hierarchy

In hierarchies, the top needs to be able to pass accountability and blame down the rungs to the lower levels. Trump blew his chance.

David Frum in The Atlantic states that Trump allows no room for bartering. "In this budget shutdown, Trump discarded his leverage from the very start, by declaring for the cameras that the budget shutdown was his decision, his responsibility. When the shutdown began to hurt, Trump and his surrogates hastily tried to transfer the onus—but it was too late. Everybody knew that it was Trump’s doing, and that it was done for reasons rejected by large majorities of Americans."

Andrew - Watch To Be Inspired From Talented People With Disabilities

With over 15 million views, the dancer Andrew has become a internet sensation.

He is a man with Down Syndrome who is inspiring so many people about the true meaning of dance, or art, and that everyone has talents!! The Greatest Dancer auditions.

So many of our hierarchies are breaking down finally, including the able/disabled hierarchy.

Trump - Bad at Playing the Top Role

People who are good at playing the roles of the top of the hierarchy know how to get everyone to support them, including those people on the bottom.

But Trump has not only backed himself into a corner with the shutdown, but his belligerence seems to have inspired a dissipation of the “both sides” impulse in much of the media coverage. Now the majority is not giving him on top the respect it takes for hierarchies to remain strong.

The Republicans and Trump are heading farther out that see saw every day, and its length is definitely not infinite.
