The Sauvie Island farmers at Bella Organic farm, pumpkin patch, and winery are using corn to promote gender equality.
"We have felt strongly about this for a long time but it can put you in
a vulnerable position to take a stance on a social issue, partly
because there are always some people who are mean and sometimes even
scary if they don't agree with you," marketing director Sofia Kondilis says. "So it took us a
while to decide but we decided it was too important to not do it."
