The Los Angeles Times is reporting a study that shows why conservatives are likely than liberals to believe false information about threats.
False claims are more readily embraced by those who endorse conservative political causes than by those people whose views are traditionally liberal.
The report also shows that when it comes to fabricating fake news for profit, stories aimed at liberal audiences were less likely to go viral than those stories designed to draw in conservatives.
