Scouting America Gives In to Hegseth

Pete Hegseth attacked Scouting America and the changes the organiztion had made in recent years to become more inclusive and tolerant and tolerant. In hyperbolic language, he decried the organization as anti-American and railed against what he called “transgenderism,” “Earth-centered pagan religions” and other “insidious radical woke ideology” that he said had crept into its values.

Now Scouting America has released a statement saying it was making "updates" to its programs to comply with orders from Hegseth demanding organizations stop any DEI efforts. Hegseth put pressure on Scouting America to change, or the Department of Defense would not send security to camporees.

Oregon Is the State with the Highest Percentage of Same-Sex Households, Topped only by the District of Columbia

LGBT+ families are an integral part of American society. Stacker examined the states with the highest percentages of same-sex households, representing both couples — married and unmarried, and families. Census data from the 2016 American Community Survey was used to rank the top 25 states, and this information was supplemented with a report on the demographics of LGBT+ households in each state from the Williams Institute at the UCLA School of Law.

Topping the list is the District of Columbia. The state with the highest percentage of same-sex households is Oregon.

Women in Minneapolis are Leading the Fight for Democracy

Much of the resistance work in Minneapolis is being led by women. These women come from all backgrounds and walks of life—immigrant women, mothers, teachers, healers, Black and Brown women, queer and trans women, grandmothers, young girls, women of faith. Minnesota women who are simply fed up have gotten involved. They organize, support, nurture, fight, love, protect, and contribute in whatever ways they can.

It seems the federal government underestimated how much the women of the Twin Cities were ready to mobilize when they selected Minnesota.

"Coming out into a crowd of women who want to help can help facilitate trust in some of the former detainees. And it can feel welcoming in a way that—by no fault of their own—I don’t know that a crowd of men would have the same impact,” said Catherine Economopoulos, an organizer with Haven Watch.

Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison and others say this surge of federal agents is "retribution" for the state’s blue politics.

Everything You Want to Know about May Mailman, Trump's Anti-Trans Zealot

May Mailman, the White House senior policy strategist  is the woman behind “Defending Women From Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government.” The executive order directs federal agencies to eradicate every trace of what it calls “gender ideology” and established new government-wide definitions of the sexes. “Woman” meant adult human female. “Female” was “a person belonging, at conception, to the sex that produces the large reproductive cell.” Men made “the small reproductive cell.” “Sex,” it decreed, was an “immutable biological reality.”

Mailman spent four years working in the first Trump administration, becoming an immigration hawk and close ally and friend of senior adviser Stephen Miller.

Mailman describes herself as “one of the most effective and connected veterans of the Trump West Wing,” the get-it-done woman for Trump’s get-it-done man. “Stephen [Miller]’s the ideas guy,” she told Blaze News in April. “And then I’m trying to be the one who makes it happen.”

Men Believe in Gender Equity in the Workplace Too

According to Catalyst, a nonprofit dedicated to gender equity and workplace inclusion, men are equally committed to creating inclusive and equitable workplaces. Seventy-six percent of them, on the whole, are saying they want to close gender gaps at work.

That could be a little bit surprising when you think about inclusion and men feeling left out — or sidelined or even blamed — for lack of inclusion or diversity.

But men are struggling in the workplace, too. According to Catalyst, 82% of men said they feel this immense pressure to conform to rigid masculine stereotypes at work. They also are feeling held back by gender norms and expectations, just like women have felt held back for many, many decades.
